Thank you for reading the news about Zizo to stay home, Shikabala reassures Zamalek fans and now with the details
Dubai – Yasmine El Tohamy – Zamalek captain Mahmoud Shikabala has rubbished rumours nearing Ahmed Sayed Zizo with a club exit, confirming the forward will stay with the Whites.
Zizo became a fan-favourite among the Whites fans, having played a major part in Zamalek’s domestic and continental success last season.
The 24-year-old’s 17-goal involvements [nine goals and eight assists] guided Zamalek to the CAF Super Cup and the Egyptian Super Cup titles.
His performances caught the attention of several clubs, with Zamalek’s arch-rivals Al Ahly reportedly being interested in him.
However, it was Emirati powerhouse Al Ain who have reportedly submitted an official for him, offering Zamalek €2.5m for the former Moreirense man’s services.
Moreover, Egyptian football agent, Nader Shawky, previously confirmed that an unnamed Emirati club started negotiations with Zizo, stating that the wages offered are much higher than the one he’s currently taking with Zamalek.
But on Monday night, Zamalek skipper and legend Shikabala took to Twitter to reassure the Whites’ fans that Ahmed Sayed Zizo wants to stay with the club, saying the winger is ‘Zamalkawy.’
“As Zamalek’s captain and leader, I announce full support to the current club’s board and technical staff,”
عاش الزمالك وجماهيره. pic.twitter.com/iAy27tQKqm

“We assure that great fans that news circulating is not true. Zizo is Zamalkawy [Zamalek fan] and will stay at his home.
“Our focus are only on the pitch. Long live Zamalek and its fans,” he added.
Zizo, whose contract ends in 2022, is not the only Zamalek player to be linked with a move abroad, with Ferjani Sassi also reportedly attracting interest from Qatar.
The Cairo giants are also already on the verge of losing their number one striker Mostafa Mohamed whose move to Ligue 1 outfit, Saint-Etienne, seems to be in its final steps.
