Bamba had started his career in France with Paris Saint-Germain, before moving to Scotland in 2006 through Dunfermline Athletic and Hibernian.
In 2011, he signed for Leicester City, but one year later he left for Turkey’s Trabzonspor and then Italy’s Palermo and Leeds United.
Cardiff City snapped him for free in October 2016, where he remained since then, making over 100 appearances for the club and guiding them to the Premier League in 2018.
This season alone, he featured six times, most recently as a late substitute in his side’s 3-2 victory over Birmingham City less than a month ago.
Despite being born in Paris, Bamba chose to play for the Ivory Coast, making 49 appearances while scoring twice, representing them at the 2008 Olympics, the 2010 and 2012 AFCONs, and the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.
