Ittihad Jeddah defender Ahmed Hegazi has disclosed that he had long term intentions when accepting to move to the Saudi club from West Bromwich Albion, and revealed what former Ittihad winger Mahmoud Kahraba told him.
Hegazi had departed West Brom in the summer transfer window to join Saudi Professional League side Ittihad Jeddah.

He has made a total of 12 starts for Ittihad across all competitions since his arrival in Saudi Arabia, guiding them the team to the Arab Club Championship.
The 29-year-old joined Ittihad on a one-year loan contract, with the Tigers reportedly having an option to make the deal permanent, something which the Saudi club denied.
The club’s vice-president affirmed that the buyout clause in Hegazi’s contract with Ittihad is mandatory and will be exercised at the end of the season.
“Talks proceeded in a very professional way and we discussed Ittihad project and how the club plans to form a strong team over the years,”

“The deal is loan with obligation to buy. The club did a great job in talks and pulled off the best deal for all parties.”
Hegazi was also asked about the conversation he had with Kahraba, who played for Ittihad for two seasons between 2016 and 2018.
“Kahraba spoke with me after learning the news and he told me good things about the club,” Hegazi said.
He has good relations with the people in the club,” he added.
The towering defender has hit the ground running with Ittihad this season, having made 12 starts across all competitions since his arrival in Saudi Arabia, including the Arab Clubs Championship semifinal which saw them defeat Al Shabab 2-1 to reach the final.
He is yet to lose a game this season as he is went unbeaten with Egypt, West Brom, and currently with Ittihad Jeddah.
