Under the coVID-19 epidemic, many people work from home. A maldives resort has spotted a business opportunity by offering a “working holiday package” that allows guests to work remotely while enjoying the views.
Maldives suspended visas on arrival for foreign tourists in March and opened its borders to eligible foreign tourists in July after strengthening epidemic prevention and control measures. According to Yahoo News on September 13, Nautilus Maldives, a resort on the Baa atoll, reopened on September 1 with a week-long to three-week working holiday package. The package allows guests to work remotely from a workstation on a shaded beach, equipped with a telephone, LAN, scanner, wireless printer, fax machine, portable projector and other office equipment. After work, guests can take yoga classes, fitness classes or meditation classes every day, and in the evening can take a cruise to see dolphins. The package includes island-wide LAN, personal assistant, airport shuttle, customs clearance and laundry services.
A total of 26 private villas are available. However, the price of such an enjoyable working holiday package is not low. It costs $23,250 a week for two, $37,850 for two and $52,000 for three.
