Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a special weather report for several regions of the province and the capital is no exception.
A system that has been very active in Western Canada is coming up just in time for the weekend. The expected quantities and the path taken by the system could however change over the next few hours.
15 to 30 cm of snow …
At the time of writing, Environment and Climate Change Canada is forecasting snowfall amounts ranging from 15 to 30 cm as of Saturday for areas north of the St. Lawrence River, including Portneuf, the Quebec City region and Charlevoix.

Temperatures will be mild, around the freezing point, but Environment Canada predicts that the precipitation will still be solid.
In Beauce, however, the snow could turn to rain in the second portion of the day on Saturday.
… and strong winds
Gusts of 60 km / h are forecast. Blizzard conditions caused by the low pressure system were also observed in the Prairies on Wednesday.
Road conditions are therefore likely to be difficult, particularly around the St. Lawrence River.
Environment and Climate Change Canada still does not qualify the system
winter storm. The criteria used are 25 centimeters of snow in less than 24 hours or 15 cm accompanied by heavy blowing snow, strong winds or freezing rain.
However, a winter storm warning could be issued on Friday.
